Baptism and church membership are intended to be embraced together. It is a church-life act that exemplifies the believer’s connection to Christ and His Body. When individuals are baptized at Countryside Bible Church, they are baptized into our family—committing to worship, grow, and reach together with the gospel.
Since the earliest days of Christianity, baptism has signified a profound commitment and public testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes the burial of sin and resurrection to new life in Christ.
We believe the ordinance of baptism is a voluntary act of public testimony for regenerate believers, identifying with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. It is a community-forming event and should be celebrated during corporate worship.
Baptism is:
“Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life” — Romans 6:3–4
